Written Summary:
This is
just a plain good all around tape for both the martial artist and athlete. It concentrates
mainly on lower body stretching. The tape consists of 5 sections-Introduction, Warm-up
and single stretching, Partner stretching and finally stretching machines. Wallace
gives a brief lecture on stretching physiology as an introduction and then gets to
the warm-up. The warm up is head-to toe and takes about 5 minutes. From there it’s
on to the formal stretching exercises. The warm-up and formal stretching part of
the tape are in a follow along format. In other words you hold the stretch with him
while he counts. The partner section is nice in that Wallace’s Partner is not nearly
as flexible as he is. So you are shown two sets of stretches one aimed at beginners
and one for advanced. My only gripe is that this section only does works on one side. The
final section deals with stretching machines and how to use them. This may come in
handy if you have access to one of these machines but I don’t. I have achieved good
results using just the formal stretching exercises. Already my kicks are getting
back up in height and my legs feel much looser. This is after 2-weeks of going along
with the tapes almost every day.
Overall this tape gives a lot of bang for
the buck especially if you get it in conjunction with one the Panther’s specials.
Bill Wallace is both very knowledgable in this area as well as entertaining. The
tape is well laid out and tries to cover all the bases. If I could suggest one improvement
it would be to include some upper-body flexibility exercise as well.
