Written Summary:

First let me start off by saying that Tony Cecchine is truly a CLASS act and is one of the most professional people you could ever deal with. With that said lets get on with the review. This tape is basically an eye opener for those interested in learning about Catch Wrestling. The tape is not about the sport aspects of grappling but rather how to destruct someone on the ground. This system emphasizes submission over control. Their philosophy is simple: submission, submission, submission, from any angle.

Tony starts the tape off explaining about Catch Wrestling, it’s history and philosophy. Next are shown some very useful conditioning exercises for grappling. These are all very practical and easy to learn. This video is about 80 percent leg locks and let me tell you Tony has some great ones.

Tony starts the submission portion of the tape by showing how to submit someone from the guard. He doesn’t pass the guard but rather shows numerous leg locks from within the guard. I found the techniques shown to be highly effective and different than anything currently being shown on video. The tape also covers submissions when in the half guard and the side mount. Tony covers the achilless lock, heel hook, knee bars, head scissors, arm and leg compressions and keylocks on the legs. Some of the submissions might sound the same by name but trust me they are not just the same old techniques shown numerous times on other video’s.

The ONLY problem that I found with this tape was the production quality. The sound at times is not the best partly due to some overhead fans that keep coming on. The lighting at the beginning is a slight problem and the camera angles are also poor at times. Overall these are very MINOR problems with this tape. As this was a seminar tape I did not expect a production quality product and you can certainly still see and hear the majority of the tape.

This tape is a steal at $29.00 including shipping. If you don’t have this tape yet and are interested in learning about the art of hooking then BUY THIS TAPE. I am really looking forward to seeing more video’s from Mr. Cecchine in the future.

M.O.
